Delnavaz Residential interior

دلنواز — Residential Interior

The capacities of architecture, from detail to whole.

Delnavaz residential interior design

Where ceiling, wall and light give each space its name, without adding a thing.

01The knot

In Delnavaz the question was how to give each space an identity without crowding the home with objects and additions.

02Untying the knot

We looked for the answer in the capacities of architecture itself: the geometry of ceilings and walls, light and colour. Rather than serving as a backdrop for furniture, these elements define zones, mark the main axes and distinguish the different functions of the home.

A shift in the geometry or colour of a surface, a line of light carried through, a harmony with the furniture: each gives a part of the home an identity suited to its use, without breaking the continuity of the interior. Alongside this shared language, the private rooms were shaped around the needs and tastes of each member of the family, so that individual differences live on within a coherent whole.

Simplicity and order come from the relationship between the parts, not their sameness.

03Epilogue

The result is a home where each part gains its identity not by adding separate elements but by drawing on the capacities of architecture, where simplicity and order come from the relationship between the parts, not from their sameness.
